Preparation

– Before laying stone paving, the area should be excavated, and the soil should be compacted. A layer of gravel should be spread and leveled, followed by a layer of sand. Once the sand is level, the pavers can be laid. Make sure the pavers are level, and the joints are even. After the pavers are laid, the surface should be swept with a broom. Installation- Pavers can be installed with either dry or wet methods.

The dry method, which is more common, involves placing the pavers directly on the sand.
The wet method uses a mixture of sand and mortar to secure the pavers in place. The mortar should be mixed according to the manufacturer’s directions and spread in the joints between the pavers. The pavers should then be tapped with a rubber mallet to ensure a secure fit. Maintenance- Pavers require little maintenance once they are installed.

A sealer should be applied after the initial installation to prevent water from seeping into the sand and mortar and to protect the pavers from staining.
